Filters for grease containment are the ONLY choice to satisfy NFPA 96 Standards. Aside from meeting the standard of grease containment outlined in the NFPA 96, filters for grease containment protect your roof and the environment.

Roof Protection

All of our filters are designed to provide “Off the Roof” ® protection. Having a pool of grease on your roof or a filter loaded with grease laying on your roof can cause extreme and, in some cases, irreparable damage. Replacing a roof is expensive. Some estimates show that the average cost to replace a roof is more than $300 per square foot.

Environmentally Friendly

The EPA has set some very strict guidelines for rooftop water runoff and our filters for grease containment satisfy all of their guidelines. The filters for grease containment trap 100% of grease that flows through while the hydrophobic material allows water to pass through. If rooftop grease isn’t trapped in a filter for grease containment when it rains, the grease runs off the building and into the sewage system. This is a disaster for the environment and violates EPA laws and other state and local ordinances which can result in huge fines and restaurant closure!

So, you’ve ordered a filter for grease containment. What’s next?

Proper Installation

Before installing the new filter or system, be sure to observe the roof and area around the filter. If there is grease outside of the filter, use Grease Away to remove it. Each filter for grease containment comes with a set of instructions to make the process very easy.

Change Frequency

How does filter change frequency impact your roof? Well, filters for grease containment absorb a finite amount of grease and some grease containment systems need to be checked more often than others. For example, if you’re deep frying food 24×7, you should consider checking the filter for replacement at least every month. For less frequent uses, we recommend checking the filter for grease containment at least once a quarter. After you’ve developed a system for filter replacement, continue to maintain the change frequency.
