Due to a need for a larger facility, Omni Containment Systems and our affiliated companies have relocated from 617 Church Street in Elgin, IL to 1501 Commerce Drive Elgin, IL 60123. The additional space will allow us to store more inventory and provide additional office space for some recent additions to the Omni family. Like moving from one home to another, though, moving a business involves a lot of stress, hard work, and a few surprises.

During the course of a move, it’s amazing what can turn up as you take down racks, sort through dusty boxes, and empty cabinets and desk drawers. As we cleaned out the drawers of our founder, Kevin Chwala, we found the plans for some other inventions he was working on back in the day. One of these was a precursor to our Quick Fit Super Hinge. Kevin called it the Quick Fix Super Binge. It consisted of a chocolate wedding cake, two gallons of ice cream, a case of bourbon, and a bottle of extra strength aspirin. Never made it to market, I’m not sure why. Probably because the sample kits we planned to send out never left our office.

We’re starting to adjust to the new place and things are slowly but surely finding a location. It won’t be long before we will be operating as efficiently here as we were at the old place. In other words, no one will be able to find anything!
